Are your emails getting trashed by spam filters?

(Ask your subscriber to white list you from the beginning)

With the increasing advent of spam emails, different email providers have tightened their security settings to block such emails. Unfortunately most of time legitimate emails also get blocked. Each email provider has its own sets of rules to recognize spam. Your emails may be falling into the spam category of those providers. All your efforts go in vain if your emails do not reach the subscribers. It is a loss for you as well as for the readers who have requested certain information but are unable to get it due to there email settings.

It is a good practice to ask your subscribers to white list you from the very first day of your relationship with them. But do keep in mind that not all users are fully aware of how to set their junk filters. Under normal circumstances today, almost 70% emails turn to be spam. This obviously is the biggest concern of users as well as business owners. Users are fed up of getting their spam and junk folder full, whereas businessmen are worried about their emails going into the junk folder of the vustomer. It thus is extremely important to distinguish junk from useful emails. Being a business owner or an online marketer, it thus is your duty to help your customers in this regard.

You should first tell them how to set their email settings so that they benefit the maximum from your emails. AOL, hotmail, yahoo and g-mail are the most widely used email providers over the internet. Give your subscribers a step by step instruction on how to white list your email address. They probably may be using some other email service but that’s nothing to worry about. As the spam settings of all email providers are more or less the same. If you give them sample of other email services they may be able to do the same for all providers.

You can also advice them or probably provide them with a small anti spam software with your email address added to the safe list. It just takes a minute to do so and saves you and your subscribers from future problems. Another easy way is to ask you subscribers to add you to their Address Book. Address books ensure that none of the emails of the contacts listed in it are ever sent to the junk/spam folder. This way there will be no risk of lost emails.

This small step of informing your subscribers will save you fatigue and increase the trust of your subscribers.
