Normally, the most likely candidates to cause a stain in our opinion are tea, coffee, ketchup or inks. One seldom expects the clearest fluid, water, to cause any cleanliness problem. Water, when comes to cause stains can become a nuisance. We clean all sorts of stains with water, but how will you clean a stain caused by water? Today I will discuss some tips to help you ward off water stains.
Things Required:
Borax Powder
Vinegar
Ammonia
Baking Soda
Dish Washing Liquid
Water
Steps:
Window Panels are the easiest target for water stains. The water coming down in the form of rain or a showerr moves along causing these stains on your panels. Panel cleaning is a difficult job in itself.
Try sprinkling some borax powder over the water stains. Moist the area first and then dab some Borax powder. Leave it on for a while and then either scrub it off or vacuum it. The stain will hopefully be gone by then.
Water stains hate vinegar. Make a mixture of Vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Mist the stain with the mixture. Leave it on for a while and wipe off. Repeat till the stain disappears.
If the stains are too stubborn, make a mixture of ammonia mixed in water. Keep the quantity of ammonia very less. Spray the affected area with this mixture and check when it is dry.
If you like you panels to be sparkling clean, this particular method will help you achieve the brand new look. Take one bottle of dishwashing liquid and whip in one cup of baking soda until it is all frothy. Apply this paste all over the panels, including the stained and non stained areas as well. Leave it on for 2-3 hours or till it dries of completely. Take a bucket of lukewarm water and add a cup of vinegar to it. Now wet the mixture with the water and scrub it with a hard brush. Then wash it off. You will be amazed to find panels sparkling like jewels. This treatment can also be used on marbles, taps, showers, tiles etc.
Tips:
Baking soda is an interesting alternate for Borax powder. It many situations, it works better than borax powder and has no side effects at all.
Fresh lemon juice is much more powerful than vinegar. If the stained area is small, you may use a juice of few lemons to treat it.
If you make a routine of scrubbing all you panels, kitchen and bathroom once a month with the baking soda and dish washing liquid, you may never need to hire a maid to clean your house for you.
Warnings:
Do not handle Borax powder with bare hands if you have sensitive skin.
It is wise to keep children out of bounds while you treat your window panels.
Keep the ammonia treatment as the last step. Ammonia is a strong chemical and I would advise you not to use it unless it is extremely necessary.
It is always a good practice to wear gloves while cleaning panels.
