Don't ever buy an email list

(They don’t know you, might as well be spam)

Do you tend to buy every other email list that you see advertised? What do you get in the end? No response? Probably your email address gets into the junk folders of their inboxes. Not probably; but definitely you’ll be considered to be spamming around. The increased number of fraud offers on the internet has made the regular internet users extra cautious. They might not be even opening an unknown sender. Email marketing is a tool that despite of being extremely powerful is very widely misused.

What most companies and even individuals do is that they purchase databases of thousands of email addresses from third parties and send tons of emails to those addresses. Doing so they hope that their business will flourish and they will attract a large number of customers. But the consequences are opposite. To know why, let’s have a look at the source of these email addresses.

Such email addresses are often collected by misleading the users. The third party might have put an online test or quiz sort of thing that asks the user to enter their email addresses to get to know their horoscope or some other thing similar. These addresses are then sold to organizations and business owners. Such third parties are not trustworthy at all. They sell the same database of email addresses to a number of companies. The scope of your company might not be even the interest of the user you are emailing. The end users might not be even opening your emails, reading is something way far.

Always remember that the proverb “Quality not quantity” is the golden rule of email marketing. Instead of buying thousands of email addresses and wasting your time and efforts emailing them your newsletters every other day, try to send your emails to people who are actually interested in what you are offering. The PR you build this way would be excellent. Your customers will trust you, as well as your products. They may also introduce your products to their friends and co workers interested in the same field.

Even if you buy a list from some third party, don’t forget to confirm the reputation of the company first. Always ask them for proofs of the method used to collect the email addresses. Also check whether the users have interest in what you are offering. You can increase your revenue by just taking care of a few small things. Business owners are often interested in profit and don’t pay attention to where the users details are being collected. This is the most vital thing in email marketing. Just keep a constant check on your list of readers and benefit from the power of email marketing.
